AUTUMN 1
Maths
In Maths, we are currently learning about numbers to 100. We are learning to use number lines, compare numbers and order numbers.
English
In English, we are learning to write a set of instructions about how to take care of an egg and we will learn how to write a setting description.
Science
Our Science unit for this half term is 'Growth and Survival'. We will be learning about how animals, including humans, grow and what they will need to survive.
Geography
Our Geography unit is 'Our Wonderful World'. We will be learning about the 7 continents and finding out lots of different facts about physical and human features.
PE
In this half term, we will be focusing on the fundamental skills of PE.
Music
In Music, we will be developing our singing skills by learning the song 'What a Wonderful World'.
Art
In Art, we are learning to create maps using different techniques and materials.
Computing
This half term, we will be exploring coding in further detail - building on the previous knowledge the children learnt in year 1.
AUTUMN 2
Maths
In Maths, we will be learning how to add and subtract numbers. We will continue to use number lines, ten frames and counters to help with our learning.
English
In English, we are learning to write a diary based on our story VLAD and The Great Fire of London. As we get closer to Christmas, we will explore Christmas characters and write a character description. We will finally explore poetry and write our own poems.
Science
Our Science unit for this half term is 'Exploring Everyday Materials'.
History
Our History unit is 'Bonfire Night and The Great Fire of London'.
PE
In this half term, we will be focusing on gymnastics.
Music
In Music, we will be developing our singing skills by learning different Christmas songs.
Computing
This half term, we will be exploring online safety.
SPRING 1
Maths
In Maths, we will be learning about properties of shape - 2D and 3D shapes. We will then move on to exploring money.
English
In English, we will begin by learning to write a poem based on our story 'Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?'. Then, we will explore narrative writing using the story 'Tiddler' by Julia Donaldson.
Science
Our Science unit for this half term is Living in Habitats.
Geography
Our Geography unit is Seasons.
PE
In this half term, we will be focusing on Sending & Receiving and Gymnastics Equipment.

In Maths, we will be learning about multiplication and division before exploring measure.

In English, we will start by writing a recount following our class trip to Blackpool Zoo. We will then explore biography and narrative writing - linking this to our history unit.

Our Science unit for this half term is Growing Plants.
History
Our History unit is Our Local Heros.
