Welcome to our Reception Class
We are delighted to be working closely alongside our Nursery, providing a happy, secure and consistent start to school for our children. Reception and Nursery are led by Mrs Claypole, supported this year by Mrs Minnock, Mrs Shaw and Mrs Londgden.

In Reception, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and excited to learn. Our curriculum offers a thoughtful balance of adult-led learning and purposeful play, giving children the time and space to explore, investigate and develop confidence at their own pace. Our learning is guided by our school’s SHINE values, which help children build positive relationships, resilience and a genuine love of learning.

Through everyday routines, shared experiences and play with others, children are encouraged to become kind, hardworking and independent, learning how to make choices, solve problems and feel proud of their achievements. We aim to empower every child with the confidence and skills they need to meet life’s challenges, both now and in the future.

We know that strong family partnerships are at the heart of children’s success. We work closely with families, valuing open communication and shared understanding, so that together we can support every child’s wellbeing, happiness and development in their very best interests.
