Letters and sounds

How many sounds can you tell your grown-up? Point to each sound on the sound mat as you say it.

Listen carefully to this list of words – can you find one that doesn’t rhyme with the others? Remember to listen carefully to the sound at the end of the word: tree, bee, pin, three, see, knee.

Listen to the story of ‘The Bad-Tempered Ladybird’ again; this time all the way through. Do you like the ending of the story? Could you think of a better ending?

Talk to your grown-up about how you think the story should end.

Challenge: can you write your own ending to the story. Don’t forget to illustrate your story.

Can you create your own clock using resources you have at home? You could use paper, card, paper plate, loose parts, number cards - whatever you would like. Here are some examples:

Choose a challenge from the home learning challenges grid.

Can you find out who the author and illustrator of the story you share today are?
