Hello and happy Friday : ) We hope you are all ok. Look forward to you being able to join us for our whole-school assembly and class Google Meet. Today, we are going to develop our understanding of reasoning questions in Maths, applying different strategies. Which ones help you calculate efficiently?
In English, we'll continue to choose and use appropriate vocabulary to describe characters. Which ambitious new words could you try in your writing? Don't forget to log into Mr Byers Music lesson and practise your singing skills.
Our new Art topic for this term is all about how to draw people. Today we're learning how to see what we draw as lots of simple shapes that we then add detail too. Don't stop striving to do your best! Have a great day and a restful weekend.

ART
Today we begin a new Art unit that looks at how we can learn to draw the human body. In this lesson we will find out how looking for basic shapes such as triangles and circles can help us to simplify body shapes and make them easier to draw. You'll be introduced to the work of the artist Julian Opie who used strong colour and clear shapes in his pictures. Have a look at the pictures below. Which shapes can you see in the bodies of the people shown? Then, read through the instructions on your Art sheets. Can you create an image in the style of Julian Opie? Watch the video in the Brain Break Activities section if you want to see more about how to draw in his style.
