Hello Year Four, I hope you are all ok. I can't believe it's May already! Your learning challenges for today are below. Please use the class email address (year4@stmartinscofe.com) if you have any questions about your learning or if you want to share anything you have learned at home. Keep shining!

English

Please look at the picture below, then choose some of the activities to do in your exercise book from school. You could share your learning with your teachers by asking a parent to help you send a picture of your learning to your class email address.

Story starter!

Being big had its advantages…

Sentence challenge!

Can you make a list of adjectives to replace the word ‘big’ in these sentences?

The big boy stepped over the wall. He placed a big foot on the ground.

Can you re-write the sentences using more interesting words?

Are there any other ways you could improve the sentences?

Sick sentences!

These sentences are ‘sick’ and need your help to get better. Can you help?

He went over the wall. He was big. People ran when they saw him. They were scared.

Question time!

Has the character in the picture always been so big?

What has caused him to grow to this size?

Where do you think he might be going?

How will ‘normal sized’ people feel when they see him?

What would you do if you saw someone of this size?

What’s on the other side of the wall he is stepping over?

Are all his family this big?

Perfect picture!

Can you draw a picture of what you think the enormous person will do next?
