Year 5 were invited to our local growing hub to take part in a nature session. We were able to build on our learning from geography by exploring and finding out more about which fruits and vegetables grow in the UK, and which are imported. We had the opportunity to see which fruits and vegetables are being grown for the local community, and we even got to taste some of the peas! We were also able to do some bug hunting, and used microscopes to investigate them up close! Lastly, we created some bug houses using recycled bottles and foraged resources from the wooded areas, and potted up our own sunflowers to take home! What a brilliant time we had!
