Monday

Good morning Year3, I hope you had a nice weekend.

As mentioned your learning this week might be a bit different and might even be a bit easier - fingers crossed!

I have uploaded complete lessons by teachers who will go through your learning step by step. The majority of the work will be done in your book that was sent home, where there are worksheets to be completed I have included those in your packs and will also add a link to view them online; if you want to complete the tasks in your books instead of on the sheet that is ok to do.

I have also added a new timetable for this week so you know exactly when we will be completing the same work in class.

I hope you have a good week and remember if you have any questions please email me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Jigsaw

Today I'd like you to watch the short clip and think about a  time you've worked as part of a team and write it down into your book with today's date and the title Jigsaw - working as a team.

Maths

This lesson will learn some new ways of looking at times tables and division facts. You'll also get a refresher on bar models which will help.

English

In this unit you will begin by looking at a famous Christmas advertisement from a few years ago and begin think9ng about the characters. You'll watch the short film twice to better a better idea of what is happening. You'll need to write down in your books any answers you're asked to think about including if you'd like to ask the characters any questions. You'll also need to think about what you liked about the film clip and what you didn't like. For the reordering of the story think about the beginning, middle and ending.

Spelling this week will also take the form of a lesson which should be interesting. You'll be looking at past and present tense so you'll need to remember words like verb - doing, vowel a,e,i,o,u, suffix - added to the ends of words to change the meaning.

Remember a short vowel sound means you have to add an extra consonant like this, hop - hopped.

Practical Maths

Today I'd like you to look at capacity. You'll need a few different size and shape containers like bottles, jars, cups and pots, make sure they are all very different.

Landmark of the Week Spring 1 Week 3. This week we are going north of the border into the Highlands of Scotland and another extinct volcano...... this week both Isla and Millie got Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands in the county of Argyll.
