Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Our jigsaw theme this half term is relationships.

This week, we are thinking about "falling out and bullying".

Explain that unkind word are like cream/shaving foam, once they are out they can never go back in. Introduce the phrase "Please don't do that, I don't like it." Talk about times when you might use this phrase. Remind your child that if the person doesn't stop they should go to an adult for help.

Ask your child, "If people are being mean to you, what could you do?" Encourage them to use the phrase above and to speak to an adult.

Can you think of something kind you could do to help your grown up at home? Choose one of the following or choose your own act of kindness and complete it. even though you are helping it is important to get adult supervision to keep you safe.

  • Help wash up
  • Make yourself a snack
  • Tidy up your toys
  • Help do the washing
  • Water the plants
  • Any other act of kindness you can think of
