Letters and Sounds
Play ‘Picnic on Pluto’. Press the sound buttons to help you read each word and then feed it to the right alien. Bob likes to eat real words and Obb likes to eat fake words. You can do this using phase 2 sounds or go up to phase 3 sounds.
This week I would like to know all about your favourite minibeast. I will set a little task each day to help you gather information about your favourite minibeast to create a little fact file. If you have any ideas yourself about how to research I’d love to hear them.
Monday’s task: decide which minibeast you like the best. Ask your grown-up to help you look at lots of pictures of your minibeast (in books or on the internet). Think about the different parts your minibeast has. Talk to your grown about the different shapes you see. Is it curved or straight? Is it long, short, round, flat?
Now you are an expert on what your favourite minibeast looks like, can you draw it and write a label?
Around your house and garden or on a walk today, can you go on a shape hunt?
What shapes can you find? How do you know it is that shape? Does it have curved or straight sides? How many sides and corners does it have?
You could tally each shape you find.
When you share a story today, can you look out for the tricky word ‘you’?
