Personal, Social, Emotional Development

Our Jigsaw theme this half term is relationships.

This week we are thinking about "being the best friend we can be".

I've put some links to some stories you may know below (or you may want to choose a story you have at home), click on the title of the story to listen. While you watch and listen, I want you to think about who was the main characters friend in the story? Why were they a friend to the main character? What did they do to help the main character?

Little Red Riding Hood

Room on the Broom

Think about what makes you a good friend? Is there something you could do for a friend to show you care? Perhaps draw them a picture, send them a video message, FaceTime. What do you do at home that makes you a good friend to the people in your family? How are you a good friend at school?

Sharing is a really important part of being a friend. Choose a game or activity that you can complete with someone in your house, something that you can take in turns: a jigsaw or building blocks would be perfect for this!

Story time with Miss Allen

This week, Miss Allen is reading "Follow that String" by Deborah Brown and Kathy Bacovitch. I had never heard this story before and I loved listening to Miss Allen read it! I'm sure you will all enjoy it just as much as me. Send me a message or video on Tapestry to let me know what you think of it.
