English

Today's focus is to be able to identify 'doing words' which are verbs in sentences and use them in your own writing.

Start by reading through the 'Learn' section and watch the short videos.

 

Activity 1: Identify verbs

See how many verbs you can spot in the interactive activity. Then try the quiz all about verbs

 

Activity 2: Let's write some verbs

Write ten sentences that show things you have done in the past.

  • Make sure you use capital letters and punctuation correctly.
  • Highlight the verbs in each of your sentences

Here is an example: I have been swimming in a pool.

 

Activity 3: Listening for doing words

Watch and listen to the video and see how many verbs (doing words) you can spot. Make sure you write down the verbs, as you spot them.

 

Maths

Today's focus is learning to use a ruler to measure to the nearest centimetre and the nearest metre.

Start by reading through the 'Learn' section and watch the short videos.

 

Activity 1

The activities in this worksheet will help you practise measuring using a ruler.

If you don’t have a ruler or tape measure at home, you can skip question 2.

 

Activity 2

These questions will help you build your confidence in measuring in centimetres and reasoning about length.

In each question, can you say which object is longer and which is shorter? Say your answer out loud using full sentences!
