Harvest Celebration

Usually during this half term we would be hosting a Harvest service in school to which everyone would be invited.  However, due to the social distancing measures in place, we will not be inviting families in to join us this year.  Each year group will joining in the service, being led by Rev. Nick Andrewes, remotely from their class bubbles.

We would also usually support our local food bank as part of the Harvest celebration by asking you to donate non-perishable food items to school for us to deliver to the food bank.  Instead this year, we would like to ask that we still support the food bank but that you make your donations directly to them rather than to school.

Oldham food banks currently need: UHT milk, small bags of sugar, small jars of coffee & tinned foods.  From packets of pasta to tins of tomatoes, please give what you can.

Parents’ Evening:

We would usually invite all of our parents to speak to their child’s teachers at the end of this half term. This year, with social distancing measures being in place, we will be offering telephone meetings instead, for all children in Year 1 – Year 6.  Our Nursery and Reception meetings will take place early next half term, giving the children new to school time to settle in first.

You will receive all of the appointment information on Parentmail.

Covid-19 Symptoms:

The official guidelines for needing to have a Corona Virus test states that you have to have one of the following symptoms:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things small or taste different to normal.

If you develop one or more of these symptoms you need to have a test, then you and everyone else in your household need to isolate until you receive your test result (usually24-48 hours).  .
