Choose a book that you have at home. Before sharing the story, can you find:
Share the book with a grown up or an older sibling. While you are reading talk about the book, what is happening in the pictures? Who are the characters? What do you think will happen at the end of the story (if you haven't read this book before)? Once you finish the book, discuss what you enjoyed about the book and why.
Can you draw a picture from the book?
Using string, ribbon, wool or anything you can find, can you measure three objects in your home?
Hold your string against your chosen objects and ask a grown up to cut the correct length.
Lay your lengths on the floor - which object was the tallest? Which object was the shortest? Are the objects taller or shorter than you?
Can you ask a grown up to measure you? This can be using string, against a wall or against someone else.
