Letters and sounds

 

Today we are thinking about the digraph qu. Watch the qu video – can you blend the sounds to read the words? (You can mute the video if your child is ready to have a go without support).

Can you think of some words that have the qu sound? You could try and remember some words from the video or think of your own.

You could draw some pictures or write a list of the words you think of.

Literacy

Can you draw and label the foods he ate. Listen carefully for the sounds in each word.

Can you complete the repeating patterns?

You could use pencil crayons or felt tips to copy and continue the repeating patterns. 

 

Challenge: can you create your own repeating patterns using things from around the house or in the garden?

Reading

 

This week I would like you to share a story over several days. Choose a longer story such as Winne the Pooh by A.A Milne or a story by Roald Dahl. Sharing a little bit each day and talking about what happened in the story the previous day will help memory and attention.
