Letters and sounds
Today we are thinking about the digraph sh. Watch the sh video – can you blend the sounds to read the words? (You can mute the video if your child is ready to have a go without support).
Can you think of some words that have the sh sound. You could try and remember some words from the video or think of your own.
You could draw some pictures or write a list.
Throughout the story the spider is very busy but she gets lots of visitors asking her to join them. Can you name all the characters in the story and match the correct speech to them?
To play this game you will need a dice (you can download a dice app on phone or tablet if you don’t have one at home), paper and pencil.
You are going to race with a grown-up to draw a spider. Roll the dice. Look at which part of the spider you can draw. Now it is your grown-ups turn. Keep taking turns – if you roll a number you have already rolled pass the dice to the other player – the winner is the first person to complete their spider.
Can you read a book in an unusual place today? You could read one under the table.
