Letters and Sounds

Using your sound mat, can you tell your grown-up all the sounds you know.

Go on a sound hunt around the house. How many things can you find that start with the sound ‘sssss’.

Challenge: Can you listen for the other sounds in each word you find and make a list?

Choose your favourite character from the story you shared yesterday. Describe the character to your grown-up. What do they look like? What are they wearing? Are they kind, nasty, hungry? Draw a picture of your favourite character.

Note: On Thursday we're going to write our description.

Missing number – Use your number cards to make a number line with some numbers missing.

What numbers are missing? Use the numbers before and after the missing number to help you or count from 1 each time.

Challenge: Can you write your own number cards to fill in the gaps. Try really hard to form the numbers correctly.

Choose a challenge from the home learning challenges grid.

Don't forget to practice your own reading books every day. You can have a look on Bug Club to find more books in your book band.
