Look at the picture from this week’s story - A Dot in the Snow by Corrinne Averiss and illustrated by Fiona Woodcock.

Today I would like you to describe what is happening in the above picture. Talk to the adult that is working with you and in sentences say what you can see.  I have done a sentence for you.

The dot had a white snowball.

When you have said the sentences write them down using the correct punctuation.

Always check that your sentences make sense.

Today's learning objective is - Finding one (1) more and one (1) less of a number within 10.  In this lesson, you will use apparatus and a number line to support your understanding of 1 more and 1 less than a given number within 10.

Follow the link below which will allow you to access the video lesson and the resources needed. Some resources are also in your home learning pack.

Remember your child needs to be secure finding 1 more and 1 less using numbers within 10 before extending the numbers to within 20.

Topic question - Could a polar bear live in Oldham?

In your previous lessons about the Arctic you have been looking at the different animals that live in the Arctic.  Last week you found out many new facts about the polar bear.  In today’s lesson, you are going to be comparing the oceans surrounding the North Pole and the Equator.  First you will be focusing on what the equator is.  You will be learning about some animals which are able to survive in the cold waters of the Arctic, where many other living things cannot.  Follow the Oak Academy link below to get to the lesson.
